Visiting Universities & Research Labs – Singapore & Malaysia

In late November 2023, I had the opportunity to participate in an academic visit to two neighboring countries, Singapore and Malaysia, together with my lecturer and fellow students. This experience was meaningful not only in expanding academic knowledge but also in understanding research culture and global collaboration in higher education environments.

Singapore — National University of Singapore (NUS) & Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Our journey began in Singapore, where we visited two world-leading institutions:
National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

During our time there, we explored:

  • Information Systems Research Labs
  • NUS Library
  • The Hive (NTU Learning Hub)
  • Various academic spaces and study environments

We learned about how research is structured, how interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged, and how campus culture supports innovation and continuous learning.

Here, we:

  • Engaged in discussions with lecturers and researchers
  • Shared perspectives on ongoing academic work
  • Explored potential collaboration for research and student mobility
  • Observed research facilities and learning environments
